Valencia Basket starts the Endesa Minicopa Endesa Qualifier in Tarragona

Valencia Basket starts tomorrow the road in search of the ticket for the final phase of the Minicopa Endesa 2025. 16 teams will participate in this preliminary phase, which this year is held again in Tarragona, and which grants the six places available for the final phase, which will be played in parallel to the Copa del Rey in Gran Canaria in February. The eight teams are completed by Barça, as reigning champion, and Gran Canaria as host. Taronja's previous history

After five years as host, this will be the second year in a row that Valencia Basket plays this Preliminary Phase of the Minicopa Endesa away from home. Of those five participations only failed to qualify for the finals the first year, so it has been five consecutive years being among the top eight teams in Spain. Last year they won directly as first in their group.

 

Groups

The participants are divided into four groups:

  • Group A: Real Madrid, Bàsquet Girona, Casademont Zaragoza and Morabanc Andorra.
  • Group B: Unicaja Andalucía, UCAM Murcia, Fundación Breogán and Cochesinternet Lleida.
  • Group C: Joventut Badalona, Cajasiete Canarias, Baskonia and Fertisac FCB Granada.
  • Group D: Valencia Basket, Occident Bàsquet Manresa, Bilbao Basket and Leyma Básquet Coruña.

 

Competition system

There are four groups of four teams that will play in a one-round (3 rounds) regular league format. Of the six available places, the leader of each group will qualify once the regular phase is over, and the two remaining places will be decided in direct playoffs to be played by the second classified teams on Wednesday: 2nd Group A vs. 2nd Group B and 2nd Group C vs. 2nd Group D.

 

Schedule

The matches will be played during the afternoon of Wednesday, December 6 (1 matchday), all day Thursday 7 (2 matchdays) and on Friday morning, December 8, the last two places will be played between the runners-up. Here’s the updated schedule and results.
