After the presentation of the new social project, it began with the first session by the coordinator of Aspromivise, David Soler, who offered a technical and practical session to the children's players of the club about the practice of wheelchair basketball.

 

Players and coaches of the children's categories showed great interest in the explanation given by the coordinator of the association, which they went on to put into practice later. They brought out their characteristic grit and competitiveness in the games that took place, understanding on the other hand, the difficulty that comes with the practice of this sport. They learned about the importance of using good equipment, such as a wheelchair adapted for the practice of sport.

 

This first session is part of the new social project carried out by the Personal Development Area of the club, led by Paco Pardo. The same project is a true reflection of the commitment that Valencia Basket Club has with the personal growth of the youth players, working on different aspects that can help players to overcome the different adversities that, during their lives, may arise.

 

Wheelchair basketball is one of the most popular sports in the Paralympic program. Born to rehabilitate American soldiers wounded during World War II, it is now practiced in more than 80 countries. Wheelchair basketball is a sport that blends strategy, skill and teamwork, demanding a high level of technical skill and physical endurance from the players.
