Two silver medals crown the Valencian selections in fry category as one of the best teams in the country, with wide representation of Valencia Basket. The selections of the Valencian Community have had a great performance in the Campeonato de España de Selecciones Autonómicas Planeta Mini 2025, held in the city of San Fernando, Cadiz.

 

Within the U12 male selection, it is noteworthy that the representatives of Valencia Basket in the squad have been Gerard Cid, Marcos Gimeno and Antonio Reginfo. All of them, along with the rest of the team members have managed to stand in the final being first in their group after defeating the selection of Aragon, 89-39, in the quarterfinals and the selection of the Canary Islands in the semifinals, by a tight 72-67. After a very tight final that was decided in the 6th quarter, the Valencian players have not managed to overcome the Catalan National Team (78-67), which returned home with a more than deserved silver medal.

 

In the case of the women's U12 team, the Taronja players who were present in the team were Clara García, Leonie Kovacik, Ángela Lozano, Ada Mínguez, Ada Ohia and Martina Sirera; along with their coach, Cristina García. Like the men's team, the women have managed to reach the final after being first in their group and defeating the selection of Cantabria by 87-37 in the quarterfinals and the Community of Madrid in the semifinals by 46-58 in an exciting game against great rivals. It was the Andalusian team who prevented the Valencian team from taking home the title, in a disputed final that they ended up winning by 72-59. The Valencian players got a well-deserved silver medal, reflecting the great tournament they have done.
