The show returns with the 5th anniversary of L'Alqueria del Basket Open 3x3

The fifth edition of L'Alqueria del Basket Open 3x3 is here, together with Red Bull. This tournament brings together some of the best teams in this sport, who will compete for a grand prize on the courts of the home of European youth basketball. In addition, the event will not only feature the scheduled games, but attendees will also be able to enjoy shows and much more. Admission is free for all interested parties until capacity is reached.

 

Tournament

The competition will be held on June 5, 6, and 7 at L'Alqueria del Basket. On Thursday, June 5, there will be a men's preliminary round between teams that have not directly qualified for the final phase thanks to their FIBA points. This will determine the four men's spots out of 24 teams that will participate and go on to compete against the already established teams in the last two days of the tournament. In the men's category, the 11 best teams by FIBA points, together with the host, will qualify for the final phase.

 

On Friday afternoon, June 6, and Saturday morning, June 7, the men's and women's group phases will be held, and on Saturday afternoon, the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will take place. 

 

Great prizes

Thanks to the collaboration with Red Bull, the tournament will feature significant prizes for both the men's and women's categories. In the men's category, the winning team will earn a spot in the FIBA Bordeaux Challenger along with €1,500, while the runner-up will take home €1,000. In the women's category, the winners will receive a place in the Women's Series Q Barcelona along with a prize of €2,500, while the runners-up will receive €1,500.

 

Teams

L'Alqueria Open 3x3 will feature 16 men's teams and 13 women's teams in the final phase, consolidating the event, which is becoming a fixture in the calendar for all teams in the sport. In the men's section, Spanish teams such as Valencia Basket 3x3, Barcelona 3x3 Goats, and Electromercantil GTF stand out, as well as foreign teams such as Los Angeles and Serbia's Novi Sad, which is ranked 31st in the world. In the women's section, Valencia Basket 3x3, Agua y Jardín, and Comboi Teika, which has former Valencia player Claudia Contell in its ranks, stand out.

 

Shows for all tastes

In addition to the games already established in the championship format, on Friday there will be a three-point contest in which one player from each team registered in the tournament will participate.

 

On Saturday, there will be much more entertainment beyond the court throughout the afternoon of competition. This year we will have a Red Bull Exhibition Battle between Michu and Hander. There will be a dunk contest with a selection of Europrobasket players showing off their skills in flying to the hoop. In addition, there will be an urban dance show performed by the Aloha Dance Center, and Kellogg's will organize two challenges in which the public will participate, with Kellogg's products as prizes. Finally, Valencia Basket will present its 3x3 academy. The Taronja club mascot, PAM, will also be present, leading games and handing out merchandise from the event's sponsors.

 

Free admission

There will be no limit except for the capacity of the outdoor courts at L'Alqueria to enjoy the most spectacular 3x3 tournament on the national calendar. The home of European youth basketball will open its doors so that everyone can enjoy the show.
