Valencia Basket, the Catholic University and the University of Valencia are launching a pioneering project on sleep and athletic performance

Valencia Basket, through its innovation department AlqueriaLab, the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV) and the University of Valencia (UV) have signed a collaboration agreement to develop a pioneering research project focused on the study of sleep and its impact on athletic performance.


This project was launched with the goal of exploring the role that rest plays in key variables such as physical performance, recovery, and injury prevention, within an applied context directly linked to actual sports practice. The initiative will combine the academic rigor of the UCV and UV with the high-performance environment offered by Valencia Basket, allowing for the analysis of data under real-world conditions and the application of the knowledge generated to directly improve training and athlete care processes.


The project involves the collection and analysis of data from athletes, with the goal of establishing relationships between sleep quality and various indicators of performance and recovery, generating knowledge useful for both the professional sphere and scientific development.


Through this collaboration, the goal is not only to advance our understanding of sleep in the context of sports but also to develop applicable tools and protocols that optimize performance and reduce the risk of injury.
