Valencia Basket's U16 teams are crowned regional champions

Valencia Basket is the Regional U16 Champion in both the men's and women's divisions. Both of the Taronja U16 teams emerged victorious from the Regional Final Round held this weekend in Ondara and Elche. Both will participate in the Spanish Club Championship, to be held May 17–23 in Cádiz. Valencia Basket players Sergio Palau and Paula Reynal were named MVPs of the Final Phase.

 

The boys’ team kicked off the tournament on Friday the 24th with a solid victory over TLSI Godella (69-93), followed by another win against Elx Basket Academy the next day, 77-89, thereby securing their spot in the Spanish Championship, thanks to the three spots allocated to the Valencian Community. Vicent Revert’s team put the icing on the cake on the final day, leaving CBI Elche X Aitysa Ingeniería no chance with a 57-16 victory, claiming the Regional Boys’ Cadet Championship trophy.

 

The girls’ U16 team followed a similar path in their Final Phase, opening with a comfortable 6-46 victory over Traumacoke El Pilar. On the second day, Lydia Muñoz’s players secured their spot in the Spanish Championship by defeating Yomee Godella 45-82. Like the boys, Valencia Basket capped off the tournament against NBF Castelló (55-15), claiming the title of Regional Girls’ Cadet Champion.
