L’Alqueria del Basket hosted the second edition of the Somnis Cup Gana Energía over three days, with the tournament successfully launching its first-ever summer edition in 2026. A total of 52 teams from across Spain gathered for a weekend defined by basketball, togetherness and shared experiences both on and off the court.

 

More than 500 players took part in the tournament, which also welcomed nearly 1,500 family members and supporters, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the facilities of L’Alqueria del Basket all weekend long. From Friday’s opening ceremony to Sunday’s trophy presentation, the Somnis Cup Gana Energía became a meeting point for young athletes, coaches and families who enjoyed a unique basketball experience together.

 

On the competitive side, Sunday crowned the champions in all six categories. GSD Alcalá claimed the U10 Boys title, while Baloncesto Rivas Sureste won the U10 Girls category. In the U12 divisions, the champions were Associació Esportiva Minguella in U12 Boys 2015, Valencia Basket in U12 Boys 2014, CB Getafe in U12 Girls 2015 and Valencia Basket in U12 Girls 2014.

 

However, the Somnis Cup Gana Energía once again proved that its concept goes far beyond competition. The Fan Zone became one of the tournament’s main attractions, offering participants a wide range of leisure and entertainment activities between games. Players enjoyed the water activity areas and inflatable attractions provided by Esport Actiu, the recreational spaces organised by Bolera El Campanar, Ramboot simulators, the 360º camera experience from Diverfotos and the Gana Energía stands, as well as the various chill-out areas located throughout the venue. Participants also attended sports nutrition talks delivered by Paletas Marpa, helping young athletes learn more about healthy habits related to sport.

 

In addition, players had the opportunity to discover the Roig Arena through guided tours. They were able to visit the first-team locker rooms and step onto the court itself. It was a unique experience that allowed the young participants to explore one of Europe’s most innovative sports venues from the inside and complete an unforgettable weekend.

 

Following the success of its inaugural edition and the launch of this new summer format, the Somnis Cup Gana Energía continues to grow and establish itself as a benchmark event for minibasket. A tournament that combines competition, education and fun in a unique environment, allowing hundreds of boys and girls to enjoy an experience that goes far beyond the final score of the games.
