Biel Román will take over from Andreu Casadevall as the new Head of Valencia Basket’s Boys Academy for the next four seasons. The structure of the club’s male development teams, now integrated within the responsibilities of the Sports Department led by Luis Arbalejo, will have Román as its main leader.

 

The Mallorca-born coach will bring his experience and expertise to Valencia Basket’s academy programme. This appointment marks another step in a career path that, after retiring as a player — having left his mark in Mallorca, Salamanca, Zamora and even in the Danish league — quickly shifted towards the sporting and developmental side of basketball, an area for which he has always shown a strong vocation.

 

After coordinating and contributing to the organisational growth of youth basketball as Academy Director in Zamora, he actively collaborated in innovative projects that combined basketball and psychology, an aspect that strongly reflects his philosophy towards player development. A regular presence in individual development sessions, camps and training programmes, Román has also expanded his methodologies internationally, working as a coach in Sweden and Denmark and leading collaborations with several youth basketball academies.

 

Biel Román has already joined the Club and has been working at L’Alqueria del Basket for the past few days as he begins adapting to his new role.
