La Cordà de Paterna faces the start of a new season in LF Challenge after two years in which the team has stood in the Final Four for promotion to the top competition. But before it gives the starting gun to the silver category of women's basketball, the Valencia Basket linked team will play this Wednesday at 21:00 in Paterna the semifinal of the Lliga Valenciana against CB Terralfàs. A new campaign with new challenges for which La Cordà de Paterna already has confirmed squad and staff.

 

For the fourth season in a row Glòria Estopà will be in charge of directing the Challenge League team, a combined team that will continue to have a close relationship with the women's first team. Therefore, the coach will continue to be part of the coaching staff led by Rubén Burgos during the week's training sessions.

 

Lidia Mirchandani, former professional player and coach in several teams of the Icelandic league, will be the second coach next to Glòria, who will offer the team the experience of her long professional career. Meanwhile, Carlos Albert as assistant coach will contribute his knowledge in the development of young players thanks to his experience in the Valencia Basket youth academy. Nacho Palmero will be in charge of the physical preparation of the players for another year. In the medical department, Marta Encarnación will continue in her role as physiotherapist and María Salvador will be the team doctor. Finally, the former player of Nou Bàsquet Paterna Mario Pinazo will be the new team manager.

 

Through Glòria's hands will continue to pass the young talent of the club, which is so important in the growth of the first team taronja with cases such as Elena Buenavida, Noa Morro, Awa Fam or Alicia Flórez. The latter will continue alternating between the women's first team and the national team, as well as Mojca Jelenc, Irene Broncano and the youth player Lucía Rivas. Along with them, Alba Caballero will also help Rubén Burgos' players in training.

 

Meanwhile, Clara Ché and Virginia Sáez will continue to provide their experience to La Cordà de Paterna, which will also have the services of Lorena Segura. The player was formed in Valencia Basket and debuted with the first team, inscribing her name in the Mur dels Somnis. For two seasons she was under the orders of Rubén Burgos until the player sought new challenges first in Ensino Lugo in LF Endesa and then, last season, in LF Challenge with Joventut Badalona, with whom she was promoted. From the taronja young teams complete the team the junior players Bo Guttormsdottir, Mª del Mar Ordinas, Marta Llompart and Clara Sancho.
