L’Alqueria del Basket last Saturday welcomed the return of the open days of training for coaches with Bankia, with a poster headed by international coach Georgios Bartzokas. Around 200 coaches gathered on the central couurt to learn from the Greek, his assistant Georgios Bozikas, in addition to Xavi Albert and Roberto Hernández, coaches of the junior A male and female of Valencia Basket, respectively.

The big guests of the day were Georgios Bartzokas and Georgios Bozikas, who moved to Valencia to close the day with a joint clinic focused on the offensive game: ‘Building the offense from the first pass’. The Greek coach was grateful to show his philosophy: “I wanted to spread some of my knowledge. Now I am unemployed, so it is a great opportunity for me to meet again with basketball. I have great respect for Spanish basketball and Spanish coaches". Bozikas, on the other hand, explained that his work as an assistant coach was to “make a presentation that showed a part of our philosophy and the work we did the last two years in Khimki and in the previous years in Euroleague”.

First clinics of the season had a great novelty and is that the section 'Et toca a tu' was released, dedicated to Valencian coaches, who now have the opportunity to show their work. In this space Xavi Albert talked about the ‘Defense press in formation’. He assured with respect to this new section that “the coaches of the Community often give us little relevance and it is important that we have a space where we can transmit our ideas to enrich the basketball of the Community”. Roberto Hernández explained the 'Fundaments applied to the 1x1 game’ and highlighted the “need to do that job not only at the beginning of the season, but throughout the season. Work 1x1 situations throughout the year, not only in relation to individual technique, but also to individual tactics and within a collective game".

The talks are supported by the Basketball Federation of the Valencian Community, and the activities are valid to compute their hours as practices of the FBCV coach courses.
