Starting tomorrow L'Alqueria del Basket will be the home of the future stars of the Endesa League. Between Monday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 8, sixteen U14 teams -representing the acb clubs- will fight to win the six places available for the final phase of the tournament to be held in Granada in February at the same time as the Copa del Rey. A date in which Barça, as the last champion, and Real Madrid, as runner-up, await, as there is no host team.

 

Taronja's previous games

Valencia Basket hosts for the fourth time the Preliminary Phase of the Endesa Minicopa. In the first edition, the taronja team made its debut as host without qualifying for the final phase. A goal that was achieved the following season and, moreover, as first in their group. Subsequently, in the final phase in Madrid, the team then coached by Ramón Congost won the bronze medal in the tournament. In the last edition of the qualifiers held two seasons ago, the Taronja team again qualified for the finals as group winners, this time under Paco Llorens. Groups

The participants are divided into four groups:

 

  • Group A: Valencia Basket, Fundación 5+11 Baskonia, UCAM Murcia Redexis and Río Breogán.
  • Group B: Cajasiete Canarias, Coosur Real Betis, Urbas Fuenlabrada and MoraBanc Andorra.
  • Group C: Joventut Badalona, Herbalife Gran Canaria, Cenor Obradoiro CAB and Fundación Bilbao Basket BBK
  • Group D: Unicaja Andalucía, Casademont Zaragoza, Catalana Occident Manresa and San Pablo Burgos

 

Competition system

There are four groups of four teams that will play in a one-round (3 rounds) regular league format. Of the six available places, the leader of each group will qualify once the regular phase is over, and the two remaining places will be decided in direct playoffs played by the second-placed teams on Wednesday: 2nd Group A vs. 2nd Group B and 2nd Group C vs. 2nd Group D.

 

Schedule

The matches will be played during the afternoon of Monday, December 6 (1 day), all day Tuesday, December 7 (2 days) and on Wednesday morning the last two places will be disputed between the runners-up. You can check the schedules and courts at this link.

 

Public

Admission to L'Alqueria del Basket will be free for all games. Except for the tickets reserved for the teams, the rest will be available to the general public until full capacity is reached. They can be purchased directly at the reception of L'Alqueria del Basket on the same day of each day of the tournament.

 

Streaming

All the games can be followed live on the acb's YouTube and Facebook channels. The broadcasts will cover the four L'Alqueria courts that will host games, with replays and graphics incorporated.

 

Activities

The public that comes to experience the Endesa Minicopa Endesa Preliminary Phase at L'Alqueria will be able to enjoy fun beyond the court. There will be a photocall with the tournament trophy along with the Endesa League, Copa del Rey and Endesa Super Cup trophies; games and music on outdoor courts; a Toyota exhibition and much more. In addition, during the games there will be games and gifts from Endesa and during the breaks the Bailosophy academy will put the rhythm on the court.
