The second day of the Preliminary Phase of the Minicopa Endesa decided the first four tickets for the final phase in Granada, which will be held in parallel to the Copa del Rey in February 2022. The lucky ones have been Valencia Basket, Cajasiete Canarias, Unicaja Andalucía and Joventut Badalona, after finishing first in their groups. Tomorrow, the two remaining places will be disputed between the runners-up in each group.

 

In the morning, the games between Morabanc Andorra and Cajasiete Canarias and Urbas Fuenlabrada and Coosur Real Betis opened the second day of the tournament at 9:30 am. The Canarian team closed the scoreboard against the Andorran team (13-64) and the Andalusian team won convincingly against the Madrid team (48-72). At 10:00h in the main court, Valencia Basket started their game very seriously, leading the scoreboard from the beginning. However, Río Breogán increased the pressure in the second quarter to leave things more even at half-time. The script of the first game was then repeated, with a Taronja team that put some ground in the third quarter. The clashes between Cenor Obradoiro and Herbalife Gran Canaria and Fundación Bilbao Basket and Joventut Badalona left triumphs for the Galician team (68-57) and the Catalan team (47-98), which closed the scoreboard.

 

In the afternoon at 16:30h, Cajasiete Canarias and Coosur Real Betis disputed the leadership of their group and, therefore, the second ticket at stake. A duel that ended with a triumph for Tenerife (67-58). Urbas Fuenlabrada and Morabanc Andorra played the other game of the group, with the Madrid team winning (87-45). Valencia Basket and Fundación 5+11 Baskonia also played their match with nothing at stake. Although the Basques put on a great show in the first quarter, the Taronja did not take long to show their quality. The rest of the game Paco Llorens' team managed the advantages and closed the tournament undefeated (97-75). UCAM Murcia and Río Breogán fought for the second position in the group of the taronja team.
