L’Alqueria del Basket launches its first psychological training course for coaches

L’Alqueria del Basket doesn't stop growing, and in its settlement process, within the second phase of its Strategic Plan, it returns to take another important step in the training of its coaches. As part of the Alqueria LAB project, the Personal Development Area of the facility, led by Paco Pardo, launches its first psychological training course for Club coaches online.

A project which starts from the base of the integral development of the players of the facility, as Paco Pardo relays. “From this moment we have a new area of Personal Development within the infrastructure of the club, and we think it is important how to work with the player, how to know him, how to make him feel better and thus also improve his or her performance. For this we have formalized a psychological training work course, which at the same time is a self-knowledge job for the coach, so that he knows more about himself and thus be able to transmit and have more precise knowledge when they're working, and a more psychological point of view to understand the player, ”he explained.

The course, designed in principle for two seasons, will address weekly various aspects such as motivation, communication or confidence in this initial part, while in its final part it will focus on psychological aspects that are more strictly related to the competition. Both with videos, theoretical explanation and practical exercises, trainers will be offered a wide variety of tools to achieve greater connection with their players.

In this way, L’Alqueria del Basket gets to keep advancing as a reference in the training of players, not only at the sports level, but also looking for an integral education in values that coaches should always reflect on the court.
