U14 teams embark on the Spanish Championship

Valencia Basket's U14 A teams will start the Spanish Club Championship between June 2 and 8. An awaited annual event that will take place in Betanzos (La Coruña) for the boys and Pontevedra for the girls. All the matches can be watched live on canalfeb.tv.


A few weeks ago, the women's U14 A team coached by Marta Sorlí won the title of regional champion with victories against Kelme Picken Claret, NBF Castelló and El Pilar. Same route as the men's U14 A team of Vicent Revert, who was proclaimed champion in the Final Phase with full of victories against the combined B taronja, CA Montemar and TLSI Godella.


Now in the Spanish Championship, the female squad is placed in group D with Movistar Estudiantes (1st Madrid), Homs UE Mataró FM IAF (3rd Catalonia) and CB Boscos Ciutadella A Siroco Recambios (1st Balearic Islands). The male team shares group A with Barça (1st Catalonia), Cajasiete Canarias (2nd Canary Islands) and Casademont Zaragoza (1st Aragon).


The competition system will be the same as in the last seasons. Four groups (A, B, C and D) of seeded teams with four participants and three tickets to the round of 16. And another four (E, F, G and H) in which only the leader will fight for the title. Three days of regular league and four days of direct elimination (round of 16, quarterfinals, semis and final).
