L'Alqueria del Basket, through its L'Alqueria Lab department, is hosting a new edition of Valencia Innovation Days, in collaboration with the Basketball Chair, with a theoretical-practical seminar on physiotherapy on Saturday, February 14. This is yet another initiative in the organization's commitment to training, which goes far beyond the court. The session will focus on “Muscle injuries: Clinical evaluation, physiotherapeutic approach, and criteria for functional return” and will be led by Ricardo Miguel Tortosa. University students will enjoy a special reduced registration price.


The eight-hour in-person seminar (from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) is aimed at physical therapists and fourth-year students in the Physical Therapy Degree program. and is part of L'Alqueria Lab and the L'Alqueria del Basket Basketball Chair's commitment to applied, rigorous training based on scientific evidence.


About the seminar

The seminar will be taught by Ricardo Miguel Tortosa, a physical therapist with more than 20 years of experience in sports and trauma physical therapy, coordinator of the Physical Therapy Department at Clínica Artes (Valencia), associate professor at the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV) and in the Master's Degree in Sports Physical Therapy at UCH-CEU, and former physical therapist for the Spanish cycling and paracycling team for 15 years.


Muscle injuries are one of the most common pathologies in the clinical practice of physical therapists. Their correct approach requires accurate assessment, sound clinical reasoning, and adequate mechanical load dosage. The seminar aims to update and deepen the clinical approach to muscle injuries, integrating assessment, therapeutic intervention, and criteria for functional and athletic recovery, with tools that are directly applicable to daily clinical practice.
