L’Alqueria del Basket players once again made their mark at the Spanish U15 and U13 3x3 Regional Teams Championship, held this weekend in Melilla. The Valencian Community finished the tournament with three bronze medals and a fourth-place finish, with Valencia Basket representatives playing a key role thanks to eight players spread across the four regional teams.

 

The first bronze medal came through the U15 Girls team, which enjoyed an excellent tournament after advancing through the group stage and quarter-finals before falling to Andalusia 10-19 in the semi-finals. In the third-place game, the Valencian side bounced back to defeat Catalonia 15-10 and secure a place on the podium. Valencia Basket players Alba Solera and Elsa Martínez were part of the squad.

 

The U13 Boys and U13 Girls teams also claimed bronze medals. The boys came close to reaching the final after a tightly contested semi-final against the Canary Islands (14-16), but responded well to defeat Andalusia 18-14 in the third-place game. Carlos Barberá and Marcos Gimeno represented L’Alqueria in the team. Meanwhile, the U13 Girls side lost 9-12 to Madrid in the semi-finals before closing the tournament with a 17-14 victory over Asturias to secure the bronze medal. Valencia Basket players Mar Sarrión, Ada Mínguez and Martina Sirera were part of the squad.

 

L’Alqueria’s representation was completed by the U15 Boys team, which produced a strong tournament to reach the semi-finals after an impressive run through the earlier stages. The Valencian side fell to Andalusia 16-21 before losing 8-21 to Madrid in the third-place game. Valencia Basket players Vicent Cabanilles and Alex Ksinan took part in the team, helping the Valencian Community achieve a commendable fourth-place finish.
