The sixth edition of the L'Alqueria del Basket Senior League with Quirónsalud will kick off this weekend with record numbers. The amateur basketball competition in the best facilities will have a total of 88 participating teams -18 more than the previous edition- and will surpass the barrier of 1100 registered players. These data demonstrate the growth of this activity that continues without stopping six editions later.

 

Given the increase in the number of teams this season, one more division has been added, leaving 6 men's divisions, with about 12 teams in each of them distributed by level to ensure the maximum competitiveness of the league. In addition, the women's division is also growing with 14 teams.

 

The men's competition will have a round-robin league. The first leg will last until Christmas. In January a Cup will be played and from February to May the second round of the league will take place, which will be closed later with playoffs. The women's competition will have a first phase of one-way league and a second phase of gold and silver, each with 7 teams. This second phase will be played as a round-robin league.
