The cross-cutting training courses are back with a session on Shoulder Physiotherapy

L'Alqueria del Basket has already demonstrated repeatedly that its commitment to training goes far beyond the court. L'Alqueria LAB is a good proof of this and very soon comes a conference organized together with the CEU-UCH University and the ICOFCV (Official College of Physiotherapists of the Valencian Community). These transversal trainings, which began to be held last season, reach all areas that involve our sport. On this occasion, the Shoulder Physiotherapy will be the protagonist.

 

Next Saturday, April 2 from 9 am to 2 pm, several experts in this field will share their knowledge. The aim is to offer resources and strategies in the field in question, always applied to training sport. This is the program of the conference:

Mr. Jacinto Javier Martínez Payá. The "Ultrasound evaluation of the shoulder in the sports injury" will be the presentation that opens this day. Martinez has a Diploma in Physiotherapy by the UCAM of the Promotion 97-00 and did his doctoral thesis there, which he read in 2009. He was accredited as a Collaborating Professor by ANECA in 2009. He teaches in numerous postgraduate courses in the specific area of radiology and diagnostic imaging for physiotherapists and has 66 publications in indexed journals, and is the author of the book "Ultrasound anatomy of the shoulder: tool for prevention, diagnosis, research and validation of therapeutic techniques".

 

He will be followed by Mr. Ramón Punzano Rodríguez to talk about "Shoulder rehabilitation in sports. Planning and prognosis". Punzano is graduated in Physiotherapy by the University of Valencia and Osteopath D.O. by the Scientific European Federation of Osteopaths and by the School of Osteopathy of Madrid. He has been Physiotherapist of the Valencian Football Federation of the AREVA Challenge in the 32nd America's Cup, responsible for the Physiotherapy Service of the Valencia Open 500 ATP World Tour Tournament and is currently personal physiotherapist of the ATP player Matteo Berrettini. He has numerous communications in national and international congresses and teaches in university masters in the field of sports. His lecture will be given together with his colleague Mr. Josep Carles Benítez.

 

After a short break, Mr. Guillem Gil Miralles will continue with the conference giving a lecture on "Return to competition after a shoulder injury. The readaptative phase". Gil has a Diploma in Physiotherapy from the University of Valencia and Osteopath by the School of Osteopathy in Madrid. He teaches at the Faculty of Physiotherapy at the Universitat de València and in different masters and university degrees related to sports activities. He runs the ASTON clinic since 2009, in which he collaborated with Dr. Pedro Cavadas and has specialized in Advanced Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries, serving more than 12 sports federations in the Valencian Community. Among them highlights the Valencian Pilota.

 

Finally, to close the conference, a clinical case will be developed and there will be a round table where speakers and students will be able to share opinions.
