Elba Garfella will be at Mur dels Somnis

Since the inauguration of L'Alqueria del Basket, the Mur dels Somnis has been a very special part of it. Located at the main access to the main court, it is a list of the players who have made their debut with the Valencia Basket professional team in the highest national category or in an international game, after having completed in the Club's youth teams the two years prior to their debut.

 

Three players (Álex Vera, Ion Galarza, Guillem Ferrando) and one player (Lorena Segura) were able to join their names to the illustrious ones that already appeared in the Mur with the creation of the facility, which is an example for all the members of the European basketball training house. Millán Jiménez, Claudia Contell, Paula García, Alejandro Bellver and Awa Fam have also met the requirements and will be included as soon as the measures imposed by the health authorities allow the celebration of their act of inclusion.

 

The same now goes for Elba Garfella, who will join these names. The inside player made her debut in the J14 of the LF Endesa against Tenerife in La Fonteta. She did it playing 14 minutes contributing with 3 points and 3 rebounds.

 

Elba Garfella will be the tenth player to be part of the Mur dels Somnis de L'Alqueria since its creation. The Club will celebrate -as it happens with Millán, Claudia, Paula, Alejandro and Awa- her act of inclusion when the situation allows it, following the recommendations of the health authorities.

 

Requirements to be included in the Mur dels Somnis

The requirements to be fulfilled by a Valencia Basket player to obtain the recognition in the Mur are the following:

 

  • The Club understands as youth categories the U14, U16 and U18 stages.
  • The debut must take place in an official competition game, European or national at the highest level, with the Professional Team (friendly matches are not taken into account).
  • The player must have played in the Club's youth categories in the two years prior to his/her debut with the Professional Team.
  • In the event that a player debuts without having completed the two years in a youth team and continues training at the Club until he/she completes them later, it will be his/her participation in official competition after that time that will be taken into account for inclusion in the Mur dels Somnis.

 

About Elba Garfella

The 18 year old player, born in Manises, came to Valencia Basket at the age of 13 from CBC Manises, passing through all the A and B teams of the Club since her childhood. Elba already stood out in her cadet age, being part of the ideal quintet of the Spanish Cadet Championship held in L'Alqueria del Basket. As a junior she already played minutes in the second category of Spanish basketball with NB Paterna, a team linked to Valencia Basket, and was also part of the preseason of the women's first team. Last summer along with her teammate Claudia Contell played the U19 World Championship, as the inside player is a regular in the calls of the Spanish national team. This year, in addition to repeating preseason with the team coached by Rubén Burgos, playing in the presentation game, has established itself in the rotation of NB Paterna with which she is averaging 6.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Garfella has continued to help the first team occasionally this season and has finally made his official debut.
